Cisco Asdm From Asa 5505
The configuration seems to be incomplete - there should be "asdm image flash:/asdm.bin", where, asdm.bin would be the asdm package in flash. Please refer the cisco.com website for compatible packages with the ASA software version.

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 appliance. I have reset it to the factory default settings via CLI. I am able to launch the ASDM. But the ASDM is prompting me for the username and password. There is no default username and password for the ASDM as far as I know, if the ASA has a default configuration. But still the ASDM is not allowing me to access the ASA.I have tried some default credentials like cisco, root, admin etc. but nothing worked. The http server is enabled on ASA.
First, installing the tool. You can download ASDM from cisco.com or from your ASA itself. You can then run it inside a browser or download the ASDM launcher so it runs as its own application on your PC. I highly recommend ASDM launcher as the way to go. The ASDM launcher works for both Windows and MAC OSX (requires ASDM version 6.4.5 or later). Once launched it will look like the below image. You fill out the info and away you go.
A few secrets about ASDM launcher. First, to get the MAC launcher working you must install it directly from your ASA using a web browser. Currently, there is not a downloadable .dmg file on cisco.com, only a .msi file for windows.
All you need to do is to reset your ASA 5505 modem. This can be done easily by clicking on the reset button at the back or at the bottom of your router. If you hold down this small button for approximately 20 seconds, (you may have to use a toothpick), then your modem will get restored to the factory settings. What you need to keep in mind is that when you reset your modem, you will lose your connection online. It is therefore better to take an expert's assistance in this regard. Note: If you have not enough information, it is obviously recommended that you should get help from a person who has all the knowledge about this topic.
